Ms. Louisa Mifsud Houlton
Psychotherapist and warranted counselling psychologist.
Her approach is integrative and humanistic. She believes in the importance of meeting the person wherever he or she is, deeply empathizing, respecting and honoring the person’s feelings, experiences and life journey. She views each person as a unique individual and adapts her therapeutic skills and techniques to the person’s unique needs and difficulties. In her view, with professional help, a crisis can become an opportunity for growth and self-development, a chance for the person to develop his or her internal resources and become a more self-actualized human being. Examples of difficulties she works with are:
- Low self-worth
- Internal conflicts and dilemmas
- Relationship problems
- Self-destructive behavior
She is also a psychotherapeutic counselor for children and young people, and uses creative techniques to connect and engage with them in a therapeutic way.
